NetInvent Computers are Different

We aren't in the volume computer business: every computer we build is a unique, built from parts ordered specially for you. If you want to buy a bargain basement computer you are probably on the wrong web page. We only build and sell quality computers, and in practice we only build one of a kind, guaranteed unique machines.

What we do NOT do

• We don't build cheap beige boxes.
• We don't build a computer with the aim of maximizing a meaningless feature list.
• We don't put parts you don't need into your computer to push the 'perceived value' up, while skimping on key resources like memory.
• We don't put parts in your computer because we want to get rid of them and make you pay for the priviledge.
• We don't select an inferior component just because it has the best profit margin.
• We don't build computers from whatever parts we happen to have in stock - we don't keep stock.
• We don't put used or returned parts in your machine.
• We don't carry any stock parts (or complete computers) at all!
• We aren't interested in selling you huge expensive software bundles - we do not sell retail software.
• We don't sell pirated software at genuine prices or preload your hard drive with cracked warezfull of spyware and trojans. In fact we don't sell pirated software at all.
• We don't recommend Microsoft Windows Ultimate Edition for no reason other than it increases our profit margin.
• We don't try and sell you a cheap LCD monitor with terrible color reproduction at a massive markup.
• We don't charge a percentage profit based on the component value of your computer.
• We don't benefit from selling you parts you don't need: we don't make any profit on parts.

What we DO do to build you the best computer that we can

• We take time to talk to you and work out what you want from your new computer. We can do this because we do not provide this service for free!
• We only use parts from trusted brands with proven track records.
• We pick exactly the brand new parts we need to build exactly the computer you want.
• We do know how to get the best trade-offs of price vs performance.
• We do want your computer to look good.
• We do care about reliability.
• We do use our experience and expertise to avoid unexpected incompatibilities and stability problems
• We do know what makes a rock solid, stable computer.
• We do install the latest Windows 7 or Linux distribution of your choice (as long as it's CentOS or Ubuntu), and we make sure you get the install CDs.
• We do take building PC's properly very seriously indeed.
• We do have a strict but fair policy regarding faulty pixels on LCD displays: simply, our policy is the same as the manufacturer's.
• We do charge for the considerable time and effort that we put into building your system, and for time spent installing the Operating System and drivers for your computer.
• We do expect a 50% of component price deposit when you confirm your order. For orders over $3000 the deposit percentage will be higher, determined on a case by case basis.
• We do arrange secure delivery Australia wide but we pass that cost on to you. We prefer not to cut corners on delivery service. Asking us to somehow swallow delivery costs is absurd and makes it impossible for us to give you the standard of delivery that is required and still make money.
• Sadly, we do take our time building your machine just right: it normally takes us several weeks to get your computer out to you.
• We do think NetInvent built machines look better, last longer and run faster than most computers.
• We do think you will be so happy with your NetInvent computer that you will recommend us to other people.

We only charge for the work we do and you pay list price on the parts. We don't make profit on parts and it's in our interest to only sell you what you need. Building computers properly is a passion for us. We charge for the time that goes into your machine, and we do everything we can so you get a solid, stable PC that does what you asked for and does it well.
